Big Talbot Island State Park

12157 Hecksher Drive
Jacksonville, FL 32233
904.251.2320

The view from the 20-foot bluffs at Big Talbot Island offers visitors a breathtaking glimpse of shoreline unlike any other in Florida.  A trail invites park guests to come onto the shore and stroll among the massive skeletons of live oak and cedar trees that once thrived near the ocean.

Primarily a natural preserve, Big Talbot Island is a premiere location for nature study, bird-watching and photography.  A boat ramp located on the estuarine side of the island provides visitors access to fishing and salt marshes. The bluffs make the perfect spot for picnics, trails offer views of the park’s many diverse habitats, and waterways invite canoe and kayak enthusiast to travel their paths.
